Kathy

Kathy's yoga journey began in 2009, driven by a quest for recovery from the physical demands of running and aerial arts training. What began as a means to strengthen her body evolved into a profound exploration of yoga as a comprehensive life system. In 2014, she enrolled in the 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Certification Program under the direction of Bruce Schwartz, Paul Cabanis, and Farzaneh Noori at Yoga House.

Deepening her commitment to Iyengar Yoga, Kathy immersed herself in studies under the guidance of Dora Hasenbein at Yoga Darsana. This journey led her to actively assist Dora in her classes and, in 2023, she embraced a new chapter by joining Yoga Darsana's Teacher Education Program.

In her daily practice, Kathy embraces the wisdom of B.K.S. Iyengar, holding onto the belief that "Action is movement with intelligence. The world is filled with movement. What the world needs is more conscious movement, more action." This philosophy resonates deeply with her, shaping not only her physical practice but also influencing her approach to life.

Nicole Hasenbein

I started my yoga journey at the age of 15 due to issues with anxiety. As much as I resisted practicing yoga, it continued to permeate throughout my life. I welcomed practicing and learning Iyengar yoga at the Iyengar Yoga Institute of Los Angeles under the care of Karin O’Bannon. I found yoga again before I became pregnant and I am studying with Dora Hasenbein and Suzanne Simon. I am currently Yoga Darsana’s Marketing Director, an educator, and teach teen yoga. I received my 200 RYT with YogaWorks in August 2020. When I’m not practicing yoga, I enjoy gardening, calligraphy, outdoor activities with my family, and creating my own beauty products.
